Algerian cuisine is known for its rich flavors and mouthwatering dishes, and one popular treat that stands out is Makroud. Makroud is a traditional Algerian dessert that is loved for its sweet, nutty, and spiced flavor. It is a perfect treat to enjoy with a cup of tea or coffee.

Here are two delicious Makroud recipes that you can try at home:

1. Makroud with Dates:
Ingredients:
- 2 cups of semolina
- 1 cup of butter, melted
- 1/2 cup of sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon of baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon of salt
- 1/2 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon of ground cloves
- 1/4 teaspoon of ground nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon of ground cardamom
- 1 cup of pitted dates, chopped
- Water
- Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions:
1. In a large bowl, mix the semolina, melted butter, sugar, baking powder, salt, and spices until well combined.
2. Gradually add water to the mixture and knead until you have a smooth dough.
3. Divide the dough into small balls and flatten each ball into a rectangle shape.
4. Place some chopped dates on top of each rectangle and roll it up to enclose the dates.
5. Cut the rolled dough into diamond or square shapes.
6. Heat vegetable oil in a pan and fry the Makroud until golden brown.
7. Remove the Makroud from the oil and drain on a paper towel.
8. Serve the Makroud warm or at room temperature.
